After seven years serving as MESHA’s Chair of the Board of Governors, it’s a bittersweet farewell to Brigadier Alison Creagh AM CSC (Ret’d). She will be stepping down as Chair following her recent and exciting appointment to the Paralympics Australia Board.

“It’s been a privilege to support veterans, emergency services personnel and their families through MESHA. Thank you to the MESHA team and Board of Governors for the work they do. I know the organisation will continue to contribute to the well-being and support of our veterans and emergency services personnel,” Ms Creagh said.

Chief Executive of The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group Paul Flynn said Ms Creagh’s dedication and contribution over the past eight years to improve the lives of service personnel and their families has been invaluable.

“We’re incredibly grateful and have benefited enormously from Ms Creagh’s contribution. As a veteran herself, Ms Creagh always put her fellow military members and emergency service personnel first and we sincerely appreciate her expertise and guidance over the years,” Mr Flynn said.

We can also share that Andrew Mannix has agreed to assume the position of Chair of the Board of Governors effective immediately.

Mr Mannix, who is also Executive General Manager of Mission Solutions at Nova Systems, has served as Deputy Chair on the MESHA board and will continue to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to enhance MESHA’s profile as a world-class research institute focused on optimising and sustaining the mental health and wellbeing of service men, women, and their families.

“Over the past eight years, Andrew has demonstrated his devotion to boosting the health and wellbeing of our service men and women and their families,” Mr Flynn said.

Mr Mannix said: “Serving on the Board for a number of years I have been immensely proud of the work we have done to improve the lives of our service personnel and their families. I’m thrilled to continue this crucial work to expand MESHA as a world-class research institute across Australia and around the world.”


Michael Morgan, AFSM, MBA (HRM), AIFireE

Fellow Board Member Michael Morgan, AFSM, MBA (HRM), AIFireE will assume the role of Deputy Chair, having served on the Board since 2018.

Mr Morgan is the CEO of the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service and is steadfast in supporting our service personnel and their families.

“Mr Morgan is a valued member of the Board. He is dedicated to promoting our work on a national level within the emergency services sector and will continue his work as Deputy Chair,” Mr Flynn said.
