Veteran support at the Jamie Larcombe Centre

Carers At The Forefront Of Leading Research

Thanks to you the kindness and compassion of our generous supporters, Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA) proudly provided a $100,000 grant to the Jamie Larcombe Centre (JLC) to support military members and veterans at their toughest time.

JLC is a purpose-built mental health facility in Adelaide which provides acute and outpatient care for veterans.

The grant has enhanced a number of areas within JLC, including the service facilities for patients, implementing inpatient activity initiatives, and funding a Masters research project led by JLC veteran nurse Rosie Barnes.

Her research is exploring the impact service dog Quattro may have on staff and inpatients within JLC.

MESHA’s Program Director Dr Karen May said: “At MESHA, we are proud to be the charity of JLC to support the work of the amazing team of health professionals to support the mental health and wellbeing of our service personnel.”

“The dedication that JLC demonstrates towards our veterans’ mental health is crucial in helping them navigate the silent injuries
they carry from their service.”

If you would like to help us continue our support of places like JLC for our veterans, donate today or call us on (08) 7002 0880.
