StoryRight is a one-day transition and communication program, which assists Defence members to translate their service history to civilian language.
Military and Emergency Services Health Australia is proud to deliver StoryRight, a one-day transition and communication program available for anyone who has served in the Australian Defence Force (ADF) regular and Reserves.
StoryRight assists Australian military members in their transition from military to civilian life by providing the tools to translate their military, trade, rank skills and experiences into language that can be understood by civilians. Being able to communicate to the ‘civilian world’ will assist participants in gaining post-ADF employment and boost confidence in the transition process.
Sessions can include up to 12 participants and are guided by facilitators with lived experience of the ADF transition process. During the workshop, participants will develop a strong personal narrative, by understanding their unique skill set and learning effective communication methods. The program can also assist participants in carving out clear career paths and prepare them to achieve this.
StoryRight assists ADF personnel to develop skills in:
Introducing yourself to potential civilian employers with self-confidence and impact
Transferring military skills and experiences to engage with different target audiences
Developing a robust professional bio for your resume and LinkedIn
Learning how to engage with civilians more effectively and proactively
Developing greater confidence as a professional communicator.
This is applicable to Defence Business Units, Ex-Services Organisations and Veterans’ Groups wanting to make a group booking for up to 12 participants
